New GREUBEL FORSEY BALANCIER S²
We are delighted to present the new Greubel Forsey flagship model and the first watch of the 2022 collection – the Balancier S². GMT Sport and the original Balancier S have revealed a new look for the Greubel Forsey brand. Now, they have taken this highly modern and exciting approach to fine watchmaking to a power of 2!
The Balancier S² isolates the most powerful elements of the original Balancier S, emphasizing and modernizing them. Instead of soft curves and a discreet overall aesthetic, Balancier S² focuses on contrast and strength. It uses the movement of its predecessor, but introduces a new case, new finishes and new design codes.
Greubel Forsey has chosen to emphasize the contrast of the dial for better legibility, with a strong black or gray background running through the balance bridge between 5 and 9 o'clock. The sharp edges and hand-grained matte effect make the bridges and hour markers more visible. The latter is reduced to its simplest expression, 12 towering exponents in 12 hours.
For the first time, the central double-arched titanium bridge carrying the gear train is openworked: once again we see the desire to lighten, purify and return to the essentials. The new titanium bracelet reinforces this dynamism. It continues seamlessly with the titanium case, exuding a solid yet modern allure. The Balancier S² has established itself in the haute horlogerie world of today and tomorrow, a timepiece that spares no effort in the pursuit of excellence in high-end watchmaking. However, it is a watch designed for everyday use, not simply one to keep in a safe.
