The official account Twitter account of Diablo recently changed its profile photo and shared the teaser of a new game, where it warns users about the arrival of Lilith which could lead to the possibility of a announcement from Blizzard regarding the game in the coming days. This could provide Diablo 4's release date.
It's a busy time for gamers. The Game Awards 2022 showcase just two days away, publishers and developers are confirming their presence in the ceremony where they will showcase new trailers of their forthcoming projects. Diablo 4 is one of the titles that many insiders believe would be included in The Game Awards 2022, and now it appears the speculation was not unfounded.
Every day is more likely that we're going to be getting a major Diablo 4 announcement. And, considering that The Game Awards is now only two days away, the announcement could happen at the event. While there's not been any official confirmation from Blizzard however, several sources seem to be very confident regarding this.
Based on Insider Gaming, "this is currently the case, and over 100 journalists will have the chance to attend an behind-the-scenes video in addition to having the chance to experience hands-on playing the game. It's thought that the embargo on the event and hands-on impressions will lift on December 7.
"During the program, Rod Fergusson invited all of the guests to tune in to The Game Awards as they'll make announcements."
Blizzard announced that Diablo 4 is still getting Set Items, though you'll probably have to wait until after launch to play with them.
Director of games Joe Shely explains during a recent roundtable conversation that reimagining sets in a way which is suitable for Diablo 4 properly wouldn't be possible for launch early next year. However, the team is thinking of making them part of it's live services.
"As we've been developing the game, it seemed we could develop sets in a different manner that is different from what we've seen previously in Diablo 3. But, we needed some additional time to incorporate them into the game an order that could work in conjunction with Diablo 4, so you will not see any sets until the launch as part of the gameplay," Shely explains. "We believe that sets are very cool and want to make them look good - and that's what we're looking towards for live play."
